Public Transport - Making the journey to work easy

Finding out and being aware of how you'll get to work and back on public transport, especially if you haven't used public transport for some time, can be daunting and it needn't be with the services available now. A great tool for finding out the best way to and from work on public transport is using Traveline.

Staff should also consider the best way of accessing work. A journey by public transport from home may not be appropriate but commuting part of the way by car is often a sensible approach to accessing the workplace and a number of options should be considered. A list of Park and Ride sites for Metro journey's can be found by clicking here and to the north of the city free parking is available at Newcastle Great Park with a direct high frequency bus service to the centre of Newcastle. Further details can be found by clicking here.

Useful postcodes for planning your journey to work are:

Royal Victoria Infirmary - NE1 4LP

Freeman Hospital - NE7 7DN

Campus of Ageing and Vitality - NE4 6BE

Traveline allows for easy planing of journey's in one direction per search as is a simple and straighforward way of finding out exactly how long your journey will take (including walking time), what service to catch and at what time. Traveline also offer a dedicated phone number if you prefer to discuss your options. The website can be accessed by clicking here.
