The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) staff network meets regularly, on a monthly basis, with the aim of supporting members of staff in their working lives, raising awareness of issues affecting LGBT staff and helping the Trust to ensure the workplace is free from discrimination.  In addition staff network members are involved in developing an action plan with the aim of increasing the Trust position in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index.

Network members have been actively involved in our attendance at Northern Pride and promoting membership to not only those staff who identify as LGBT but encouraging ‘allies’; those staff who may not themselves identify as LGBT but have an interest in LGBT equality.   

The network has had a strong presence at the Equality and Diversity week, generating ideas, educating staff and assisting with staff engagement points.
